Junior Achievement of New Jersey and Wells Fargo Host Activation Day at JA BizTown

Edison, NJ, May 10, 2024 — Junior Achievement of New Jersey -JANJ- and Wells Fargo are joining forces for a special event to mark their continued collaboration and offer students meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. The "Activation" Day is set for Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM, at the JA Education Center located at 360 Pear Blossom Drive, Edison, NJ 08837.

Leaders from both organizations will speak to the importance and relevance of this outstanding partnership and highlight some of the goals that both JANJ and Wells Fargo share. There will also be students from Paterson School District in attendance, who will be able to hear more about the importance of financial literacy and career exploration in addition to their BizTown simulation experience.

Wells Fargo volunteers will also be on-site to help guide students through various aspects of JA BizTown, a simulated town where students can learn about running a business, earning income, and managing finances. JANJ’s BizTown simulation helps students develop critical life skills and gain a deeper understanding of economic concepts.

“Our corporate partners are the backbone of BizTown and are essential to our simulation experience. We are grateful for Wells Fargo’s continued efforts on empowering the next generation of leaders in New Jersey,” said James Horne, President, and CEO of Junior Achievement of New Jersey. “Together, we can supply our youth with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their futures.”

“As the Bank of Doing, Wells Fargo is extremely proud to provide pathways that lead to future success,” said Tomas Porturas, Senior Community Impact & Sustainability Specialist for Wells Fargo in New Jersey. “One of our key areas of focus is financial education and economic empowerment, and JA BizTown provides New Jersey students the knowledge and experience that will guide them in their quest for future success.”

The Activation Day will commemorate Wells Fargo's ongoing support for the JA Mission and its substantial impact on shaping the future leaders of New Jersey. Junior Achievement of New Jersey and Wells Fargo look forward to continuing their collaboration and inspiring more students across the state, together.
